Mommy’s Kitchen: Home Recipes to Follow; Homemade Pizza
You really can’t go wrong with kids when it comes to pizza. Let them put their own toppings on it, and they will be more likely to eat it. But Moms, why not let them make the whole thing, dough and all? Here are super easy recipes for your best pizza times together.
Dough
* 2 ½ cups flour
* 1 tsp salt
* 1 cup warm water
* 1 tbsp yeast
* 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
* 1 tbsp oil
Toppings
* Pizza sauce
* Mozzarella cheese
* Pepperoni
* Ham
* Meatballs
* Sausage
* Pineapple
* Pepper
* Mushrooms
* Olives
Recipes: Dissolve yeast in warm water and add a dash of sugar. In a mixing bowl add salt, flour, Italian seasoning, and oil. When yeast is bubbly, pour into flour mixture to make dough. Form into a ball and place in lightly greased bowl. Allow to rise 30-60 minutes.
Roll out dough on a floured surface and stretch into pizza pan. With multiple children you can make individual pizzas so they can add the toppings they desire. Times: Spread sauce, cheese, and any other toppings over crust and bake in a 450 degree oven for 10-15 minutes or until cheese bubbles.
Mommy’s Kitchen Recipes Together: Bubble Pizza
Mommy’s Kitchen Recipes Ingredients to Follow:
1 ½ lb. ground beef
1 jar pizza sauce
2 tubes refrigerator biscuits
1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Mommy’s Kitchen Directions to Follow:
Brown the beef in a skillet and drain.
Mix pizza sauce hamburger and simmer until heated through.
Quarter the biscuits and place in a 13-in x 9-in x 2-in greased baking dish. Top with beef mixture.
Bake uncovered at 400 degrees F for 20 minutes.
Sprinkle with cheeses and bake 5-10 more minutes.
Mommy’s Kitchen: Potato Pierogi
Pierogis are a great activities to make with Mommy. It teaches kids a lot of skills and it’s something they enjoy eating. Plus Mommy, it’s better to make your own pierogis than to buy them from the store. This is huge money savings right here.
Mommy’s Kitchen Recipes: Pierogi Dough
Mommy’s Kitchen Ingredients to Follow:
* 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
* 1/2 cup cake flour
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 2 large eggs
* 1/3 cup water
Filling
* 3 large baking potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks (about 4 cups)
* 2 tablespoons butter
* 1 cup finely chopped onion
* 1/4 cup sour cream
* 1 cup grated sharp Cheddar cheese
* 3 to 5 tablespoons milk
* Salt and pepper to taste
Mommy’s Kitchen Directions to Follow:
Recipes: Combine the flours and salt in a mixing bowl and make a well in the center. Add the eggs and water. Using a fork or whisk, mix just the liquids. Now with a spoon stir the flour into the liquid from the sides of the bowl.
When you have made a dough, knead it for 7-8 minutes on lightly floured surface with lightly floured hands. Put the dough aside in a bowl covered with a plastic wrap while you prepare the filling.
Put the potatoes in a pan with just enough water to cover them. Heat to a boil. Cook 10 minutes until the potatoes are fork tender.
Meanwhile melt butter in a sautée pan and add the onion, stirring until it’s a light golden brown.
Drain the potatoes and transfer them to a large bowl. Add the onion, sour cream, Cheddar cheese, 3 tbsp milk and about ¼ tsp salt. Mash adding salt and pepper to taste. If mixture is a little dry, add more milk.
Roll dough out very thinly on a lightly floured surface. Cut with 3-inch circle cookie cutter. Place 1 tablespoon of potato filling in center of dough cut-outs. Moisten half the edges with a finger dipped in water and fold the moistened end over onto the dry end to seal. Press the edges firmly together.
Bring a pot of water to a boil and place pierogis into the boiling water. Times: Let them boil for 7 minutes. Serve with sour cream.
Mommy’s Kitchen Recipes: Roasted Red Potatoes
Mommy ‘s Kitchen Recipes Ingredients to Follow:
8 cups washed and halved small red potatoes
1/3 cup olive oil
3 tablespoons butter
Salt
Freshly ground black pepper
Mommy’s Kitchen Directions to Follow:
Preheat the oven to 350F. In a large pot boil the potatoes for 5 minutes, just until tender (do not overboil). Drain and set aside. In a roasting pan combine the olive oil and butter. Place in the oven for a quick 2 to 3 minutes, just until the butter melts and tray is hot. Add the potatoes to the baking tray and toss well with the butter/olive oil mixture. Season the potatoes with salt and pepper to taste and roast for approximately 50 minutes. Times: Basting and tossing half way through cooking.
Mommy’s Kitchen Recipes: Honey Sweet Potato Mash

2 cups warm mashed sweet potatoes
Dash of sale
1 tablespoon light brown sugar
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons butter
½ cup milk
1 cup miniature marshmallows
Mommy’s Kitchen Instructions to Follow:
In a large bowl mix the mashed sweet potato and all ingredients. Transfer to a lightly buttered casserole dish. Top with miniature marshmallows and a little brown sugar. Times: Bake in a preheated oven at 350F until the marshmallows start to brown, approximately 10 minutes.
Mommy’s Kitchen Recipes: Chicken Cutlets and Fries
Kids love chicken, but you might not be so crazy about having them fry chicken fingers. All that grease spraying everywhere. But baking them like in this recipe is not only healthier, but also not as dangerous for the kids.
Mommy’s Kitchen Recipes Ingredients:
* 2 large baking potatoes
* ¼ cup zesty Italian dressing
* 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided
* 1 lb boneless chicken breast, pounded and cut into strips
* ½ cup bread crumbs
Mommy’s Kitchen Directions to Follow:
Heat oven to 425 degrees.
Cut potatoes into ½-inch strips and place in a bowl. Toss with dressing and ¼ cup cheese until coated. Spread evenly into a lightly greased baking dish. Bake 12 minutes.
Meanwhile mix bread crumbs and the rest of the cheese together. Wet chicken and dip in breading mixture.
Add the chicken to the baking dish with potatoes. Turn the potatoes. Times: Bake 15 minutes or until the potatoes are tender and the chicken is done. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.

No Cooking Mommy’s Kitchen Recipes Ingredients to Follow:
2 cups vanilla fat-free yogurt
2 medium bananas cut into chunks
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 cup orange juice
No Cooking Mommy’s Kitchen Instructions to Follow:
Recipes: Place banana chunks and strawberries in blender. Blend on low until broken up. Add yogurt and orange juice. Times: Continue blending on high until mixture is smooth. Serve immediately.

No Cooking Mommy’s Kitchen Recipes Ingredients:
1/2 c. milk
1 c. sliced peaches fresh or canned
1 tsp. sugar
Utensils:
ice cube tray
blender
serving dishes

Pour milk in ice cube tray and freeze solid. Once frozen, pull from tray and place in blender. Add peaches and sugar to blend on high speed until smooth. Serve immediately.
No Cooking Mommy’s Kitchen: Refreshing Banana Treat
No Cooking Mommy’s Kitchen Recipes Ingredients:
2 ripe bananas
1 cup low-fat cottage cheese
1 cup plain low-fat yogurt
2 eggs
1 tablespoon of lemon juice
3 tablespoons honey
1/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
No Cooking Mommy’s Kitchen Instructions to follow:
Place bananas, cottage cheese and yogurt in blender. Blend just long enough to breakup bananas. Add eggs, lemon juice, honey, flour and vanilla and blend on high until mixture becomes smooth. Be sure to scrap sides of blender to make sure all ingredients mix together and no banana chunks are left. Spray pie plate with canola non-stick spray. With rubber spatula put all the banana mixture into pie plate. Make sure to spread it out evenly. Place pie plate on middle rack of preheated 350 degree oven. Bake for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and cool to room temperature. Times: When pie has cooled place in refrigerator for 4 hours or overnight. Garnish top with a few banana slices just before serving.
No Cooking Mommy’s Kitchen: Peach and Yogurt Drinkables
Mommy’s Kitchen Recipes Ingredients to Follow:
1 cup frozen organic sliced peaches
1 container (6 oz) Fat Free French vanilla yogurt
3/4 cup orange juice
1 tablespoon honey
Mommy’s Kitchen Instructions to Follow:
Place sliced peaches in the bottom of blender. Blend on low speed to chop peaches in small pieces. Add yogurt and blend on high for approximately 1 minute or until creamy. Make sure peaches are completely pureed. Add orange juice and honey. Times: Blend about 30 seconds more to mix all ingredients together. Serve.
